Echo Orbs
An echo orb is a piece of technology in the world of Violem. A floating spherical metallic orb that encases an enchanted stone engraved with a mimic rune. Speaking into one of these orbs allows for your voice to be thrown twice the distance without the need to shout. If you have multiple echo orbs, then you would have the ability to linked them together and project your voice further. These orbs will work as long as they are within range of another within range of another, roughly 50 metres in any direction.
The Creation:
It all began with an inventor in the tinkering district of Elsgard. Tasorim, a retired rune scriber spending his retirement in his workshop. Working on projects he was not allowed to explore during his working years. One day Tasorim was gifted a small bag of shiver gems by a local trader, geodes from another realm with unique vibrational magic. Wanting to learn more about the gems he began tinkering away to understand how the magic worked. After a week he had no success. Tasorim was about to move onto his next project until he began tapping his glass bottles in thought. To his surprise, the sound of the tapping began to bounce around the room. Back and forth between the shiver gems getting quieter with each ding. This simple sound sparked the cogs in the old rune scriber to start turning. For the next month he tried various materials to see if the effects could be replicated. Got out his old rune books and experimented with various variables until he created the prototype of what would become echo orbs. As family and friends visited his workshop, he showed them and embraced the praise he received. Giving him the courage to step out of his home and share his invention with the rest of the world.In the World:
Now this, this is something I can get behind. An invention that allows us to do our job in a way that hasn't been done before. The chance to get mine and Zedd's voice across an entire city. I have to say, what a magnificant creation. Whoever thought of this should get a raise.It is still a relatively new creation, only a few years old at best. It is only in the past few months that many guilds, factions and companies have taken advantage of the technology. With the biggest trial yet to come during the finals of the Golem Game tournament in Sianwood. Tasorim and his wife have been kindly been given tickets to the event, but the old rune scriber is more in awe seeing his invention being used for people to enjoy.
