Golem Game Winter Solstice Championships

The dawn star is settling behind the horizon and the stars are starting to twinkle in the dusk sky. But the city of Sianwood is still wide awake, roaring with anticipation and excitement as the streets are lined with fans for the Golem Game Finals.   Market stalls on wheels offering warm food and drink line the main roads, people from all corners of the South Plains queue to get into their seats inside the Seedless Colosseum and the voices of commentators carry over the sound of crowds from the various echo orbs floating throughout the city. Broadcasting the conversation.

Welcome back, we are live from Blubur Watchtower giving you live coverage of the golem games winter solstice championships! We are less an hour away from the semi finals taking place here at the Seedless Colosseum. The crowd are ecstatic, the feeling of anticipation throughout the city is simply electric. And we don't have to wait too much longer before we get started with the semi finals.   But before we get into that, let's talk about the competition so far. I'm Alabamm Catadamm and sitting next to me is the ever wonderful Zedd Frogue.   Ya know, in all the years we've been doing this I don't think you've ever called me wonderful.   Have I not?   Yeah, makes a nice change from the insults. Hah!   Well, don't get use to it, hehehe.   Now, to get started I just want to know what you've thought of the competition so far. Cause its, its really been one full of surprises.   Absolutely, definitely one for the record books. I mean we've seen a couple of really good players get taken out very early and a few underdogs rise up. I think, people have been giving their all. Ya know, trying out new tactics, maybe taking bigger risks than what they normally would from league matches. And as a result, its been a joy to watch every game.   Couldn't have put it better myself. And, you know, its a big competition and all the big names are in it. I mean two of the biggest are facing each other in the first fixture. Manamishma, obviously a three time world champion. Normally this would be a walk in the park, but he has been kept on his toes. And of course, there is Hu-Ba-Ran. A very consistent gameplay, always on the attack. Always giving it one hundred and ten percent but just not catching a break.   Ya know what, he should have won one of these contests by now.   I agree.   He has been, like you said, a player that we always see in these semi finals, top five in anything that he competes in and a fan favourite. People want to see him win. They want to see him hold that trophy and they want to see him get the reward for all his hard work.   Of course. Its, its something that I think we've all expect to happen. Its just a matter of when not if.   Is that how the saying goes?   Probably, something along those lines I'm sure. Great with words I am.   Yeah, we both are. Especially after a couple rounds in the tavern hah.   We can find out later tonight hehe. Ahem, but before we can do that there is the second fixture as well. Ruxia and Thonalin. Now that's, that's a very interesting game for several reasons really.   The accusations for a start.   Oh, for sure. I mean, actually let's start with Ruxia since you mentioned it. A sorcerer who we have never seen go this far into a contest. For the ten years he has been playing, usually one of the first out. And then all of a sudden, he's making his way to the semis. Knocking out Ci-Ka-Lar, who I would argue is a stronger player. I mean, some people are starting to wonder if there is some. How shall I say this, has some external help. Or maybe he really has just been practicing hard and finally found his stride. What are your thoughts on the situation?   Ya know, I've watched him in a few training sessions and I don't think he is putting in the same effort as some of the others. Yes, when he is in the arena, he is performing well. His rolls are superb but looking at the numbers. The stats of his rolls for this contest have been unlikely. I can't possibly believe he is this lucky and this skilled to make it to where he is today. In my opinion, he's just not upto standard.   Right, so you're saying here that he is cheating?   I don't want to, but looking at the evidence it's hard not to. Do you not think?   Well, we have seen people rise from the bottom and perform well. I mean look at his competitor Thonalin. A recently new player that started towards the bottom and has rapidly improved. We aren't out here accusing him are we? I, I think that maybe there is more to this...   Yes, you're right Ala but the difference between them is that Thonalin is a new player. He is younger than some of the others. Less experienced. But, But! He has shown his improvement over a longer period of time. It's taken him about three years to get where he is. Ruxia on the other hand. Ten years of competitions, never. Never! Reached the semi finals and suddenly in this championship, suddenly has the skills and luck to win it? I just, I just can't see it happening.   Well, you're not the only one. As officials have been debating and putting the decision to a vote about whether a full blown investigation into Ruxia should be conducted. The results of that vote, to be announced tomorrow regardless of the outcome of tonight's games. So yes, a very interesting game to watch later tonight.   But before all that, we are going to take a little break. And when we get back we will be going over the item list for tonight's games as well as the most common bets placed on the games tonight. Manamishma verses Hu-Ba-Ran and Ruxia verses Thonalin. We'll be right back after a word from Zadryn's Brewery.
