Bugs of Violem

Throughout Violem lies many small insects and critters adventurers could encounter on their travels. While most are harmless on their own, a swarm of them could easily become overwhelming and lead to fatalities. The following information was provided by Osarri, Acuan of Animals during her quest to find every animal in the realm.

Boo-Ga-Ben

A harmless little thing with a funny sort of walk, almost like its dancing. Small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. With a back shell softer than the average beetle and appearing in all sorts of colours. So many artists use them in paints but I'd rather not think that honestly.

Kellar

I believe the Kellar orginally came from the realm of souls. These invisible little insects have a unique ability to move freely from realm to realm. No need for portal magic or incantations like we do. And I bet if you found enough of them, you could walk into the soul realm with little hassle. I happened to stumble onto a few after getting lost near the Great Forest. Their feint glow was enough for me to escape the darn place.

Astral Project - On a critical roll, transports the target's soul to the realm of souls

Skyfeather:

I noticed a few of these translucent butterflies whilst I was flying to the city of Norpelda. At first I thought they were just falling feathers from nearby birds, but my guide told me they are a common site in the city. Fascinating to watch when the dawn star is rising.

Spark Bug

They might be small, but they are nasty little things. Packing quite a sting, as if being struck by a tiny bolt of lightning. While it didn't burn me, it still hurt. I didn't even do anything to aggrovate it. They just don't like big people in their area I guess.

Shock - 1d4 melee, chance to paralyse upon a critical hit

Vaskan

Oh these are such an usuaul bug. I don't think they come from Violem, perhaps one of the many realms out there but certainly not here. Bigger than most bugs too, I didn't need my shirnking potion to get a good look at their horned faces or watch their legs dangling down from their body. As long as you don't start swatting them, they seem harmless enough. But I did watch them bite a rabbit, giving it frost burn. Poor thing.

Will O Wisp

I was warned about these from a friend of mine. False appearances, often found in the forests in the dead of night. As I started looking for them, they just showed up out of nowhere. I began following them, only to find myself at a dead end. Then they tried to suck the life out of me. Very rude, fortunately I was able to snuff out their light and escape with ease. I am still unsure if they are some form of spirit or a manifestation of the elements. Either way, best avoid these tricky bugs.
