Blood Moon

In the realm of monsters, there is a single night which every hunter dreads. The night of blood moon. A natural phenomena where the full moon will is tainted and shines down a dark crimson light onto the world. With each ray that hits the ground, the power of the blood moon consumes the minds of both hybrid monsters and the native beasts. Gaining in strength, agility and supernatural powers at the cost of losing their ability to think clearly. The monsters affected will go on a rampage, decimating the lands. Destroying the homes and cities of hunters, killing one another in a blind rage. When the night is finally over, the destruction of the monsters are felt by all for weeks. With hunters taking weeks to repair damages and monsters hibernating after the immense power they experienced.
The more time we spend in this realm, the more I think we should have left it be. The beasts that live here are frightening, the affect it has had on my friends and now there is this blood moon to consider. Where the stars align and a dark red veil covers the land. The monsters seem to be even stronger. Their psychic abilities are heightened. Ik-Guru has been tracking it so we can evacuate before it occurs again.

Power of the Blood Moon:

While the blood moon reigns over the realm of monsters, the magic users of the lands take the opportunity to bless tools, weapons and items with magical properties that grow stronger with every blood moon that passes. Notable objects include:   Stained Stake of the Blood Moon: A ten inch spike made of ash wood and stained with blood taken by a vampire during a blood moon. The stake never dulls and gain stronger with each monster it slays. 1d8 melee damage, chance to cause 'bleed' condition upon a critical roll. The weapon deals double damage against vampiric creatures and will gain an additional +2 damage if it kills during a full or blood moon (stacks upto +6).   The Ruby of Disappearance: An enchanted ruby that has been attached to a silver chain necklace. Anyone who wears the necklace has the ability to turn invisible except from the night of the blood moon. On that night, the ruby gives the wearer a radiant ability that blinds any creature which stares directly at them.   Flying Oak's Boomerang: The heirloom of the infamous hunter family, the Flying Oak, made from a metal from another realm. Deals 1d4 melee damage, 1d6 ranged damage. Chance to cause 'bleed' condition upon a critical roll. Upon a full or blood moon, the weapon deals double damage.
