Valiant

Valiant is a present Top Hero of the state of Kansas, and a rather interesting individual. His aesthetic alone makes a lot of people look down on him, a fact that completely didn't stop him from being considered to be within Top Five of American superheroes in terms of pure combat strength.
He is also - correctly - considered to be among the most pleasant to spend time with. If you are ready to stomach the aforementioned aesthetic, that is.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Valiant is, to say the least, extremely muscular and very, very big. A fact that is even more visible thanks to his naturally massive frame and his tendency to wear very little while in combat.

Special abilities

His individuality is called Bravery. It's an extremely powerful strength and durability enhancing superpower that boosts his body proportionally to how confident and brave he is at the moment. The highest level of reinforcements changes him into a nigh-unstoppable juggernaut that's capable of tanking tank shells head-on and only feel a light impact (although you can expect his helmet and/or other parts of his equipment to be damaged).
Not to mention being strong enough to close the distance in a few heartbeats and tear the tank's turret off with his bare hands. Using a sword is at this point almost an overkill, but one that he will indulge in when needed.
Its only weakness is that sufficiently powerful enemies CAN intimidate him, even if only for a brief moment when he is surprised with their arrival/power they displayed, weakening his individuality for a moment. Valiant mastered the ability of restoring it (even if it sometimes makes him come out as a being very prideful), but it's still a momentary weakness that sufficiently powerful enemy could exploit.
This also means that Valiant tends to fare less than perfectly against enemies that he fought and failed to defeat/arrest in the past (an example might be Jormungandr), making him excel at fighting against villains he already once defeated in the past (such as some of the Liberation Festival escapees) or those that he is yet to fight.

Apparel & Accessories

Since his inviduality is powered up by confidence, Valiant tends to embrace that fact and displays how utterly fearless and confident in himself he is at the moment. This includes NOT wearing an awful lot of things, aside from boots (helpful in mobility), an underwear and a helmet (of great helm type). The side effect of that is Valiant occassionally referred to as an exhibitionist (despite him finding no sexual enjoyment in his choice of outfit that's actually born of pragmatism).

Specialized Equipment

His helmet is actually filled with electronics, serving as a means of communication and displaying a form of HUD that allows his sidekicks in sending updates about the developing situations straight to him, not to mention highlighting certain elements of his surroundings to help in combat or to avoid potential dangers.
When his confidence is weakened by a sufficiently powerful enemy, he stops fighting barehanded and grabs a weapon - typically a rather giant sword or a smaller sword and a shield, depending on which he believes will work better in the current situation. If even that fails to stop his enemy - and thus weakens his confidence in his own strength - he will restore it once more by wearing a 'proper' combat armor.

Personal history

Before his individuality manifested, Valiant was a high-school student with a penchant for body-building and heavy-lifting in general. He planned to become an athlete - then, when his superpower manifested, he decided to give another line of work a shot (especially as he could no longer become an athlete - his individuality WOULD count as cheating). He has risen in the Hero ranks quickly, taking the slot of the Top Hero of Kansas following Virtue's fall from grace during the First Villain War.
Valiant is generally believed to be utterly disinterested in politics or popularity, focusing on fighting against villains in his state, and rarely leaving it for too long - unless other Top Heroes ask for his help.

Intellectual Characteristics

Often described as not the sharpest tool in the shed, and looked down upon as a muscular brute. This isn't a correct statement, however. While Valiant isn't a scholar, he is extremely skilled in applying his own strength and adapting its level in order to avoid splashing villains (or random civilians that happened to be in the way) over the pavement on an accident. This requires extrensive training, and an ability to think lightningly fast.

Morality & Philosophy

Generally described as extremely friendly and heroic individual, Valiant is seen by some as an epitome of what a hero should be. He is the type of a hero that saves people while dropping by reassuring even if rather cheesy lines, not to mention being generally speaking nigh-fearless (a very important quality considering the mechanics of his individuality), not to mention being very glad to share body-building tips with whoever approaches him at a local gym (that he visits pretty much at random), with some additional words of reassurance of motivation.

Strenghts

Extremely powerful melee combatant, capable of withstanding all but strongest blows and dishing incredible amount of damage. Extremely qualified wrestler, something that allows him to use his superior strength (and control) to easily disarm and knock enemies out without letting them cause a lot of damage. Extremely qualified boxer and swordfighter (although in the latter case he's mostly self-taught). Attempts to use mindcontrol on him proved that he has a significant willpower and capability to resist those.

Weaknesses

Vulnerability to ambushes, his strengths tends to decline with subsequent clashes with the same individual he once failed to arrest, weakness to environmental attacks (such as poison gasses), is more suited to combat than anything else, can be outplanned although it gets harder with every year of experience he gains.
