The Drum of Yorayda Mountains

'The Drums of Yorayda Mountains' is a Draconic children's story about a curious Draconian who finds a chained demon under her home in Yorayda Mountains.

Origin

The earliest known record of the story can be dated back to 2600BHE (Before Human Era), used as a story by Nannies to read Younglings before bed or to frighten them.

Story

In the cave-lit halls of a mountain, that radiated out 'utopian',
There lived at the very bottom, a very scared Draconian.
Afraid of the littlest things: A mouse, a bug, or a leaf,
The flickers of torches even made her shriek.
One day, when finding something to eat,
The Draconian heard a sound, that swept her off her feet.
A roaring echo, that would make elders numb,
A sound deep below, that went Drum Drum Drum.
Curiosity fought her, a feeling she never adored,
She seeked out the sound, down the corridors.
At the bottom of the path, where the stones gathered heat,
The little Draocnian saw something of great feat.
Skin of iron, and fire as blood.
Pulling on the casted shackles created the illed thud.
A cut off wrist, waving as it soared,
The hellish apparition stared at her as he roared:   "The earth bounds me deep, as I drum drum drum.
You hear the growling rythmn, as you run run run.
Hearing pattered footsteps, you flee flee flee.
Counting the days, I will break free free free.
You hear the growling rhythm, as you hum hum hum.
Deep in Yorayda Mountains, I drum drum drum."
The Draconian did not shake, not a whimper or a scream
The one-handed demon did not scare her in her dreams.
Tall things were nothing, like mountains and tips of trees,
She was only afraid of smaller things, such as songbirds and bees.
She turned away from the chained demon, without a care to give,
Leaving the patient behemoth to his fate, one he will not forgive.
"Horrors!" shouted the demon, "you'll see the sun sun sun,
When the walls shake apart from my Drum Drum Drum."

Military Significance

Drums became a military tactic to Draconian vanguards and legions due to the cultural significance of 'the Drum of Yorayda Mountains' story to its Draconian people. The hellish drums heard on the battlefield are to spark dread and terror upon their foes before battle, as it symbolizes bringing the power and rage of demons to anyone facing their percussion.
"You hear the growling rhythm, as you hum hum hum.
Deep in Yorayda Mountains, I drum drum drum."
