Sea of Sand

A hostile desert terrain located in the northern parts of Etherios, the Sea of Sand earns its name from its shifting sand dunes, which move with the wind to create the illusion of nautical waves. A believable oxymoron. its large mass holds home to many fauna and flora that survive in these extreme conditions, making them one of the rarest and dangerous apex species on the food chain. 
Few signs of civilization can be observed or recorded but are unaware of its motives or beliefs due to the difficulty of reaching these great distances. Some say it's an advanced race whose knowledge and technology let them strive in this wasteland, with inventions and concepts too great for the common minds. Others say it's home to bands of nomadic tribes that reside in small pockets who wander the desert to gather and hunt. And few say that there is nobody at all, it's our mind playing tricks in order to torment the lives of doomed explorers.

Climate

The Sea of Sand is a very unique climate compared to other regions of Vilhelm. Its constant high temperatures make it unbearable for the majority of all races and creatures. Searing heat waves come in droves, dehydrating most individuals finding themselves in this area at a more increased rate. These extreme temperatures are one of the main hostile factors towards this land, commonly straying new adventures away that would have to endure the intensity.
With no natural obstructions to limit wind strength, sandstorms are very frequent throughout the region, even surpassing past south over the Sandstone Ridge. the storms cause the line of visibility for many to be lmited whether it be from the clouded sand particles in the air or peripheral damage to the eyes without protection.
Cold nights with no obstructions or shielding create a cold snap-like environment, on par with the arctic points in Vilhelm.

The Barren Exploration

In 152HE, Professor Walter Vusbridge of the Tripeaks University took it upon himself to man an expedition in the Sea of Sands. Vusbridge was one of the few intellectuals in the region to be ocnsidered an expert in the harsh region of the East, which was still just the tip of the iceberg from what they all knew. With students at the Academy and guides to let the adventuring party into hostile territories, reahcing the Sandstone Ridge and htuis beggining their journey
