Hand of the Ascending God

Located in the heart of the Elvish Capital of Hammel, Kalandrel; The illustrious Hand of the Ascending God is a 25' Tall and 11' wide naturally formed limestone pillar that resembles a palm with five appendages/fingers reaching to the skies with soft bends to its joints. The statue is a landmark and a bookmark for the history of Elvish lore. The statue is believed to have originated the origin of raw magic in the Kalindrel Kingdom, allowing Elves to harness its power and slowly gain the understanding to manipulate the unknown force into a beneficial tool for their world.    The name 'Hand of the Ascending God' is named after the statue's large resemblance of a hand reaching to the skies, giving the visual representation of a deity pulling itself out of the earth to return to the realm it can from. Tales attempt to explain the strange phenomenon of the colossal statue. The most common and believed to be the official story thorugh Hammelian historian's eyes is the 'The Halls for Mylrin' tale. Depicting the Elvish god of trying to retrieve what was stolen in the plane below, as he attempted to escape from the overwhelming forces, he managed to puncture his hand through the earth and release the gift back to the plane above, before succumbing ot the horrors and trapped for all eternity in the hellish pits of the plane.

The Age of Learning

The radiating forces residing from the hand allowed early generations of Elves of an unstable source that they wished to research further into. The raw magic was found to be easily manipulable with simple ingredients such as flowers, leaves, and leather; giving reactions of increased signs of growth and pulsated orbs that can be used for light sources.    The statue was seen as a powerful object, as it radiates its raw magic to all that's around it, including the inhabitants of Hammel. Scholars began using their embedded aura from exposure to the hand to start using themselves as the subject. And hence, the Age of Learning was underway.    Trials and errors were recorded and witnessed. Books were published then republished with improved methods and strategies. Until the novice learners became experts i the arcana the world provided for them. Their abilities allowed the city to grow and prosper with new forms of technology powered by themselves to shape the course of a new Eden.   Various travelers at this period traveled to Hammel to learn the power of the now called 'Elvish Magic'. The teachings of this magical form spread across all of Kalindrel, allowing townsfolk and residents to hone their skills. Dubbing Hammel ' The Magical Capital of the World'.

Shadows of Sharian Magic

When exploring south of Rumael, they met upon the Tribes of Vrlhelm, multiple settlements of Sharians whose only knowledge of the time was the way of stone axes and bows. The traveling Elves bestowed the teachings and aura of elvish magic upon the tribes, allowing them to also better their livelihood for the sake of the realm, a proposed age of prosperity.    The basics of elvish magic were taught to them. However, the Sharians used their newly acquired power to worship their own deities that go against the Elvish morals and teachings of their own, becoming an insult to the Hand of the Ascending God. Sharian magic became more unstable and vicious, as it was used for more primal use, matching their lifestyle they were quite accustomed to.    The butchering of their teachings played a key role in the feud and hatred of Sharians by the Elves, seeing their neighboring brothers and sisters as savages and monsters. Two native races of Rumael were at at a cold war against one another due to false beliefs and promises plaguing the reasonings. and these factors lead to the fall of the Vrlhelm tribes by both Humans and Elves. Forcing denouncings of worship and traditions for the Sharian people, categorizing them as a second-class race and used as slave labor on estates in the now colonized Centrelands.
