Victrina

Scope

The motivation behind building Victrina

Victrina is the result of my frustrations with trying to make campaigns in other people's settings. While other settings have the benefit of years upon years of lore and premade characters and established shared settings, it doesn't allow you to build a world around people. Thus I made Victrina as an attempt to make worldbuilding a collaborative action between every single dnd party that I have ever played with, multiple friends, and of course myself.
It's unfinished, and for years I've kept all of the details inside of my head, but now that I realize it wont be safe in there forever, and that details will be lost over time, I find that I need to start writing things down. Thus I come here, and intend to record everything that I can think of while I can still remember it.

The goal of the project

While it's easy to say that this is just for my DnD campaigns, I really find that this setting is for my friends. I made this setting around a group of characters that my friends made back in middle school, and have been refining it more and more since then. So, I just want them to enjoy it, and maybe whoever else I find time to play DnD with in the future.

Victrina's Unique Selling point

The hook I find with Victrina is just that I edit bits of fundamental worldbuilding that I find unpleasing, along with adding what I like. For example in Faerun and The Forgotten Realms, I find their geopolitical structure confusing, unrefined, and frankly dissapointing. Meanwhile in other settings I find the monocultures that have been put up are too restrictive with certain races. This also lets me explore themes that most settings dont allow such as corporate machinations, ultranationalism, historical enemies, and more.
