Personal history

Ezekiel Maycock was born to a poor couple in Cardiff, Wales. Evangeline and Theophilius Maycock did their best to raise him well, but he was lost among his seven older siblings (from oldest to youngest: Matthew, Hester, Marcus, Luke, Jonathan, Charity, and Eve). He went to a public school for a while, but he eventually was forced to drop out to help his father support the family. At age 15, he joined the railway, acting as an assistant in the main engine, but an accident caused by some broken rails two years later left him severely injured, and he went to work in a factory, where he would work for most of his life. He remained very pious the entire time he worked in the depressingly dull factory. One rainy Sunday, when he was 19 years old, he met a young women by the name of Allie Deering. After a brief courtship, the two were married, and began a family. One fateful day, he took his family to watch the launch of the grandest floating city ever built- Victoriam City. It was this day that would change his life forever. At the launch of Victoriam City, a blinding figure manifested in front of the crowd. According to the witnesses accounts, the figure was the Virgin Mary. To some, she came to bless the city ensuring it centuries of prosperity, but to others, she came in the name of God to denounce the city as a work of man's hubris, proclaiming it's doom. Ezekiel himself was firmly on the side of the latter, and quickly saw an opportunity to make a name for himself through it. He gathered like-minded individuals, those who wholeheartedly believed in Victoriam's doom. Soon, he built a church around the idea, a church devoted to stopping the hubris of man by any means necessary, a church called The Marian Society. The Marian Society became a sort of religious cult, as well as a terrorist organization responsible for destroying Fideliam City as well as attempting to destroy the main water pipe for Victoriam. From the organization's "donations," to money gained from raiding imperial stations such as armories, both the Marian Society and Maycock himself grew very rich, very quickly. Maycock died at the age of 46 during the outbreak of the Great Plague, and passed along his legacy and life's work to his son Abraham.

Education

Maycock never had secondary or higher education but did attend Holy Oaks Grammar School as a young child.

Employment

Ezekiel worked for most his young adult life working in an engine factory to support his wife and children. On that fateful day in 1858, he took his family (his wife Allie and his three children Abraham, Patience, and Gabriel) to see the launch of Victoriam City. He and several others witnessed the Virgin Mary on the island, and he quickly seized the opportunity to rally the other witnesses around himself to form the Marian Society. He built it up as a cult, garnering tithes and other support from the members and using it to sabotage the Empire.

Social

Social Aptitude

Maycock was known for his charismatic nature, which helped him win many followers. He is incredibly confident and extroverted, but has poor etiquette by high-class standards.
