Gerdis

The capital city of the island of Miya, Gerdis is a haven for all thrill-seekers, adrenaline junkies and patrons of pleasurable pursuits. Gerdis' location within the Sunny Seas provides it with a beautiful climate, with white sand beaches stretching for miles on its coasts. The sparklng, clear blue sea travels through natural canals into the city, bringing colourful beautiful fish along them past the numerous bars and restaurants set up along the canal sides. Hotels line the beachfront, happy to provide lodging to the large number of tourists who flock to Gerdis every year.
However, as with every large city, Gerdis has its seedy underbelly. Away from the family-friendly Old Town, the area where the first settlers of Gerdis established the city, lies the Dark Districts, areas of Gerdis where tours do not take you and where only those who look for specific vices venture. Even Gerdis' policing force dares not venture into them. Each of the Districts cater to a specific desire and as such have come to be reflections of the services provided in.
Due to this reputation, as well as catering to families, Gerdis has a large appeal to the younger folk of Vicheve. Many come during summer breaks to fully unwind and engage in all the city has to offer. Most who return tell their tales of drunken debauchery to their fellows, encouraging them to go as a once in a lifetime experience.

Tourism

Tourism is the main business of Gerdis with the entire city being built around the industry with the exception of the outer suburbs. Every day of the year, tourists fly to the city directly from across Vicheve, with Gerdis Airport being one of the largest and busiest in the world behind some of the larger cities like Archevale or Grymmsdale. Gerdis doesn't really have an off-season period like some holiday hotspots in more temperate climates.
Within the city of Gerdis, a wide range of attractions are available located around the Old Town. Various museums, arcades, restaurants, bars and landmarks are open year round to welcome families to come visit. Visiting the Cathedral of Tymora or Silvanus Park are lovely ways to spend some time while the Deanot zoo and aquarium are there for animal lovers, offering a look at various species of animals from Vicheve and planes beyond. The Golden Strip comes alive at night with music and laughter, offering great food and good times to its patrons.
The Gerdis beaches are popular with people of all ages. Children building sandcastles, young adults throwing small parties on the sand or sleeping off the previous night's adventures and older people relaxing under the sun can be seen year round. Scuba trips, boat excursions and various watercraft rentals can be found around the Gerdis waterfront as well as restaurants offering delicious seafood, fresh from the Sunny Seas.
Further out of the city, tours and expeditions to the Twin Points in the south head out every day to give tourists an experience of the freezing lands around them. Elysium Park, Vicheve's most popular theme park, operates in the land outside of the city as well as multiple golf courses dotting the green grasslands.
Dark Districts: The darker side of Gerdis, offering more insidious wares and experiences, lies deeper in the heart of Gerdis, seperated into 4 distinct districts, each run by a mysterious crime lord, rarely seen but who's influences are felt within their territory. For those willing to venture into them, they are broken down into the areas below:

• Dreamvale- The hazy, fog-covered streets of the Dreamvale District are not a place you would want to find yourself alone. Populated by those who have partaken in the illicit substances often purveyed within the establishments throughout the district, it is a common sight to find people here talking to themselves, sleeping off their latest hit, threatening others for money to buy their next or even dead of an overdose. The steam that occasionally rises from grates throughout the district is claimed to be lace with a substance to help others enjoy their time here as they wander the backalleys or browse in various peddlers of chemical and herbal goods. The buying and selling of these drugs is overseen by a crime lord known as the Dream-Mother, operating from her base in a den known as The Lunar Pool.
• Brightlights- The opposite to the dingy, dreary Dreamvale District, the Brightlights district is a haven for nightlife within the city of Gerdis. Here young people flock to the nightclubs, bars and taverns for drinking and dancing the night away. The district gets its name from the brightly lit signs decorating the entrance to every business within the district. A permanent light pollution covers the area at night, so bright it is indistinguishable from daytime. The crime lord in charge of this district is known as the Golden Lord, operating out of the Lady Luck Casino, the tallest building within the district, stretching above everything with its hotel floors above the casino.
• Tempus Fortress- It is hard to go wrong with knowing you've entered into the Tempus Fortress District. Entering through one of the gates set into the massive stone walls, is entering into a world of battle and bloodshed. Tavern brawls or fighting pit disputes in this District can emerge into full-scale street fights, massive free-for-alls painting the streets red as the banners and flags of multiple mercenary companies and renegade armies fly high above. At the centre of the district sits the Battle-Master's Castle, known for its brutal fighting pits and multiple-level Tavern, all of it run by the crimelord known only as The Bloodied.
• Scarletwalk- The Scarletwalk District is the most scandalous district that exists in Gerdis. The main business of this district is the selling of bodily favours. While the industry is not legal in Gerdis, this district does not get shut down due to its reputation of people going missing or returning in a daze unsure of what has transpired in their time there. The crime lord in charge of this district is known simply as The Spider, ruling this district through secretive means from the club known as the Lacy Web.
