Marquis Dahmir Basara 402 – 459 AEL
Founder of the Basara Trading Company | First Marquis of Caldan
Dahmir Basara was a self-made merchant lord, rising from humble beginnings to establish one of the most powerful trading enterprises in the Sultanate. At just 24 years old, he founded the Basara Trading Company in 426 AEL with a single ship and 100 gold coins, using his sharp business acumen, fearless ambition, and ruthless pragmatism to carve out a fortune.
Over the next three decades, he expanded BTC into a dominant trade empire, securing lucrative contracts, eliminating rivals, and forging key alliances. His success earned him the title of Marquis of Caldan in 459 AEL, solidifying his family’s place among the nobility. However, shortly after attaining this title, Dahmir was assassinated under mysterious circumstances, leaving his daughter Ellenore Basara to inherit both the company and his legacy.
Though dead, his influence still lingers, and many believe that his killers remain hidden in the shadows of the Sultanate, waiting for their next move.
