Physical Description

General Physical Condition

While slightly shorter than average for a young woman her age, adolescence and training has allowed Sumire to grow into the lean fitness and graceful beauty one would expect for a career performer.

Facial Features

While she may try to downplay her Elven heritage, Sumire can do little to hide the points of her ears or her almond shaped eyes.

Special abilities

When she was young, Sumire learned that she had potential as a Sun mage. While her mother was excited over this as such magical affinity is seen as a blessing in Elven society, Sumire would only come to be frustrated with her supposed talents as she could not use her magic to help heal her mother's illness.
While Sumire still possesses a connection to her magic, she more often than not struggles to conjure more than simple light.

Personal history

Sumire was born to a single Elven mother who raised her the best she could despite their impoverish lives.
When Sumire was age 12, her mother became sick and, unable to afford medicine that may have saved her, passed away. Sumire spent months on the street before crossing paths with Cassandra Blake, a budding water mage and street performer who offered to be her partner.
Cassy and Sumire managed to scrape by with what little coin they were able to make performing in the streets and local taverns. They finally managed to catch a break when Janise Tompson saw one of their shows and offered an audition for the Wynrose Company.
Both girls were recruited to the company following their auditions, though Cassandra would later leave Wynrose in favor of venues like high end taverns where she could had more creative freedom and could put on magical performances.

Education

Sumire is socially intelligent both from having lived on the streets as well as her experiences as an actress for Wynrose. However, it is also because of her time on the streets that her books smarts don't extend much beyond basic literacy or the historical tales depicted in the plays she performs.

Employment

Sumire works as a singer and actress for the Wynrose Theatre Company and is seen as rising star given her talents.
During the off season, Sumire will moonlight and perform as a guest partner with Cassandra.

Mental Trauma

The loss of her mother still haunts Sumire as does the fear of one day returning to the streets, poor and unwanted.

Sumire is observant and socially intelligent, often using her fame and skills as an actress to leverage information from those of wealth and influence.

Morality & Philosophy

Sumire is willing to play what she and Janise often refer to as the 'game' as a means of earning some extra coin to better distance herself from the poverty of her childhood. While this often involves entertaining men of wealth and means, she feels little guilt over her actions. Why should she care about some loose-lipped merchant when he and his peers didn't give a toss about her until Violet started taking the stage?
Despite her cynicism and drive to escape her past, Sumire doesn't wish to entirely forget it either and often tries to give some of her excess money to impoverish Elves like she had once been.

Taboos

While the 'game' might often involve some flirting and entertaining of men, Sumire refuses to go to bed with anyone as she views most high-society men as superficial and would be loathed to let one use her as she believes her mother had been.

While she is grateful for her success and is driven to build up her personal funds, Sumire tries not to forget those who have not been as fortunate as she is. She will often donate her spare coin to people on the street, especially Elven and Half-Elven children like she had once been.

Vices & Personality flaws

Sumire tends to expect little from most of the people she interacts with as so few cared for her before Violet became a rising star on stage. This view, though, has at times blinded her to when someone truly does seek her for something beyond her looks or fame.
While it helps her try to pay her good fortune forward, Sumire's awareness of her 'luck' in escaping poverty also hangs over her as the near ever-present fear that said luck could easily turn and send her right back to the streets.
