Stonekin

Autonomous golems created by Dwarves‌.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Stonekin resemble rough-cut statues of humanoids. They possess steel skeletons with ceramic exteriors, making them exceptionally durable.

Behaviour

Stonekin are simple, task-oriented beings that will rarely deviate for a given task unless they have to.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

It is believed that Dwarves made the Stonekin to assist with tasks they couldn't normally or safely handle on their own. The ceramic exterior of the Stonekin supports this theory as such would have made them very tolerable of high temperatures.

Facial characteristics

Similar to their bodies, the faces of Stonekin are rough-cut to resemble that of a man. What stands out, though, are the softly glowing orbs that seem to serve as their eyes.

Average Intelligence

Once discovered in the ruins of Gullforg, the Stonekin demonstrated a surprising degree of sentience and problem solving skills. It is unknown if this was by design or phenomena brought on by centuries of being left to their own devices.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Stonekin seem to have excellent night vision or possess an alternate method of sight given that centuries of darkness has not appeared to have hampered them.

Civilization and Culture

Average Technological Level

The state of disrepair many of the Stonekin were found in suggest that they do not possess the means to repair themselves after being damaged. It is currently unknown if this is due to a lack of knowledge or if the tools needed for such tasks were lost along with the Dwarves.

Average Physique

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Many of the Stonekin found in Gullforg possessed a blackened patina on their exterior, especially along their arms and legs. This is mostly attributed to their time spent in the city's ruins, but the theories of what sort of labor the automotons might have been used for suggest some markings may have predated the Dwarven extinction.
