The fight continued as Denye mentally told the others about the Gate and with a glance up at the Chain warned them that they had 30 seconds or less to stop the remaining three cultists. Jilken rushed through the gate and with a couple of arrows, dropped a woman wearing leathers. Janora followed and with a Curse of Pain enhanced Witchbolt jarred the Overseer out of the spell as well. The other man who had already been knocked out of the spell, rushed at the pair of adventures. WildShaping into a T-Rex he snapped up Jilken in enormous teeth before whipping around his tail and slamming the witch. Janora lost concentration on her Witchbolt, but she managed to not be knocked into the blood canal that sparked and rippled with arcane power. Released from the arcane lightning, Overseer Feywine tried to escape by casting Plane Shift, but Janora Counterspelled her and she screamed in frustration. Denye rushed through her Gate, and with an apology to Ell and Ha’aash dropped the spell to begin conjuring a bowl of Sunbeam. Cursing, the Overseer Countered the spell. Denye tried her own Counterspell, but it was disrupted by the half-orc wizard casting the same spell.
The fight lasted for several more rounds with Ha’aash and the Hut breaking the last two stones. The T-rex continued to try to swallow Jilken, but the warrior used her spear to keep from slipping down it’s throat, although she almost passed out once or twice. The woman in leather, and eventually the dwarf with a bloody apron, came to “life” again, flesh puppets for the Abyssal flame within. The Overseer was countered again and again, getting pummeled by the party until Tear slipped in and finished her off with his Shattersword. Rather than reanimating like the others, she immolated in a violent fireball that rocked Tear, Denye, and Forest. Ell used a Wall of Light to blind both the Overseer and Laycie. The half-orc wizard seemed to have developed a specific hatred of Denye and chased her until the Corva wizard finally finished her off with a barrage of Magic Missiles.
In the aftermath of the battle everyone sort of dropped to their knees in various states of exhaustion and reaction. Denye simply fell to the ground and began weeping looking over at the young half-orc woman. Janora was magically drained and suggested that they take a long rest so she could sleep. That led into discussions because both Ell and Denye insisted on staying here until the Chain had healed itself and been released. Ranunkel pointed out that the Passwall spell on the door would expire in an hour or so. Wearily, Denye promised that she could deal with that, after she recovered some arcane energy of her own. Satisfied, Janora set up a Tiny Hut, gathered up her Hatchling Hut and passed out. She was woken briefly when Denye used to a Knock spell, to explode the stone door outward.
