Pact of the Voice

The original pact was made with Hanno Darnet in 256 TA. Frustrated that his father had bent the knee to the Ashkevron line and sold the family birthright.  In Hanno's own hand, he describes how one night, a beautiful woman appeared at his balcony and offered power, power that would allow him to raise the Darnet family name to rival the Ashkevron, regardless of who wears the crown. 
"Your father has given you an opportunity, although you do not know it. Why be the one who is on display and must deal with the petty concerns of state. Much better to stalk the shadows and be the puppet master who calls the shots. My power shall mix with your blood and manifest itself as a silver tongue. Through me may your dreams be fulfilled."  
This seemed to be good to Hanno, but still he asked, "No power or gift comes without payment. Why have you come with this offer now?" 
Laughing, the woman, answered, "Long have I watched your family. You were born to rule and your frustration called to me. All that I ask is that you do the occasional small task, act as my hands in the world as it were. I promise that even those will prove profitable for those with the mind to see opportunity. All that is required is that you once more bend the knee."
Here Hanno gets somewhat evasive about how exactly the pact was consummated, but agrees to bind the family with each member being presented to the Voice on their 7th birthing day. Each will speak the words and take them in:
"I am the chosen of the shining Voice. I am the child of persuasion. I am one among the constellation of shadows and I pledge myself to you. You are my leige and my protector and I am your hands and your work."
