Summary:

The learning and lore of witchcraft is kept by family lines and shared with other witches when possible to spread knowledge. It is up to the witch how much gets added to their own line. This is the tradition as kept by the Candlekeep line.

• Spirits fill the space between the worlds and can be touched and interacted with at need.
• Differences in philosophy often guide the witch in their path and their interaction with nature and their gifts. These are often categorized as beneficial, natural, or baleful based on the spells and interactions they focus on.
• Those who follow the beneficial path tend to find themselves as midwife and healer to nearby villages. While much can be done through magic and craft, these witches will often say that hard work and elbow grease are just as important to people and should not be forgotten.

• While there are distinctions, all witches consider themselves brothers and sisters. They honor Huntokar as the wellspring of their power and seek to discover and nurture those connections with the natural world as well as the people they interact with.
• Huntress and Protector of the Glade, the goddess is known to have walked long ago. Knowing that she could not be everywhere, she began to find people who shared her philosophy and taught them some of her arts. These children of the moon as they were known were gifted with arcane skills. Finding places where they could protect the world, they are outsiders and tend to exist on the edges of things.
• Much of the book is filled with herbal knowledge and recipes. There is also quite a large section on various spirits. One of the recipes is a potion to infuse poison into leather armor, simply called Poisoner's Revenge.
