Imperator Hulin III

Tyrant, dictator, warmonger, and self-declared emperor, Hulin was the previous ruler of Thuon Khor and the father of Queen Numia VI and her sister, Princess Zahira.   Hulin was the only child of Queen Numia V, the revolutionary leader who deposed the human royalty and established the elven lineage of House Sula. After Numia died a peaceful death, Hulin became king at the age of 256, and almost immediately fell prey to corruption. Within two years, Hulin declared himself Imperator and launched a series of wars against the other nations of Seraht. These wars, which he dubbed the Expansion Wars, lasted for the remainder of his rule; 617 years from the declaration of conquest into Honadaria until his death in Rashazar.   Hulin quickly became known for his actions during these wars. He was seen as a master tactician for his skills leading his troops in battle, consistently overpowering armies which outnumbered him in foreign territory. Hulin was also seen as a master at intrigue, utilizing recruited foreign spies and making deals with those willing to assist him against their home countries. But mostly, he was seen as brutal and vicious.   With a twisted and cruel mind, Hulin developed new methods of torture and execution. But this was little in comparison to his the actions he did for his wars. In perhaps the most infamous act he performed, while trying to move his armies through the mountainous nation of Tinnet to the Eastern Lands in his middle conquests, Hulin ordered his archmages to destroy and carve through the thinnest swathe of mountains in the region. One of the nine mountains Hulin ordered destroyed housed at its peak the capital of Tinnet, Waldar. Hundreds of thousands of native Tinnetians were either displaced or killed, including the leader of Tinnet, the Grand Cleric Olostad.   Hulin fell fond of an elven woman late in life, when he was 776 years old. A noblewoman from Pondra, the Tuonin city in the Wasad mountains, Aliyah Maia found herself the Empress of Thuon Khor beside Hulin, and bore him two daughters, the first named Numia after his mother, and the second Zahira. As Aliyah was a young 246 when she met Hulin, she survived his death and continues to offer her daughter advice as the Queen-mother.   Eventually, in his 875th year of life while trying to conquer the northern lands of Rashazar, Hulin was killed leading his troops in the Battle of Slovos Forest. Although it is unknown which soldier landed the lethal blow, it is widely known Hulin died unceremoniously and in the chaos of battle. After his death, his eldest daughter Numia, took the throne, throwing off the oppressive title of empress and recalled the Thuon Khor army, signing a truce with Rashazar. Thus ended the Expansion Wars and Hulin's dream and subjugating the entirety of Seraht. Hulin's body was retrieved but in light of her father's actions and the pain he caused throughout the Empire, Numia did not order a state funeral in his honor. Instead a small service for his family and his closest counselors was arranged, ending the reign of Hulin III with little more than a whimper.
