The Angelic Device

A construct of intersecting golden rings and glass-like orbs suspended in impossible balance, the Angelic Device defies easy description. Its outermost bands orbit a radiant core; a sphere of pale, crystalline light that pulses faintly, as though breathing. Smaller orbs of blue-green glass rest at cardinal points along the vertical axis, connected by delicate lattice and vine-thin filaments of gold. Shards of crystal drift at the edges, caught mid-scatter, frozen in the moment of something either unfinished or eternal. The craftsmanship is beyond any known forge. Its symmetry is deliberate, its beauty unsettling. An artifact of unknown age and probable Angelic origin, brought to Angelwatch Fortress for a singular moment; to enter a memory. Its glass veins and etched surface bear markings older than the Legion's records. Those who have used it describe the experience as something between memory and vision, truth and dream, but real enough to ignite change. What it was built for, beyond what it was asked to do, remains unanswered. It was borrowed from Suncrest and will return to Suncrest; far too treacherous to reside anywhere else.
