Rainbow Pigment

Rainbow Pigment; or just Pigment, is a volatile, but useful alchemical ingredient. It's most often used in potions that relate to the creation of objects, such as particularly strong Alchemical Snares, but there are other products that pigment can be used when harnessed carefully.
In the right hand, pigment can be used to swiftly manufacture clothing or furniture from nothing, leading to it being an invaluable resource to prospective alchemists.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The process of refining and working pigment is somewhat simple, if not tedious. Put simply, the unrefined pigment must be ran through an absorbent fabric or sponge before it's wrung out. The person wringing the pigment out must imagine an object of their desire, and repeat this process until the pigment's colours match their desired object's properties.
The slightest distraction can lead towards dangerous or disastrous results; so much as accidentally thinking of a bomb in place of a blanket will lead to the pigment becoming volatile.

Pigmented Eyes

Within Blackwood, countless eyes gaze upon traveler and adventurer alike, be they from a capricious Fae or a wandering beast. These curious, watchful eyes contain the same pigment that puddles within the woods, and may even be harvested to extract it. Such a process isn't for the faint of heart; crushing eyeballs into a rainbowy paste isn't exactly a pleasant experience for anyone.

Potion of Youth

Pigment's anti-aging properties are very well-documented, though such a thing requires raw, unrefined pigment and careful brewing of an effective health potion. In theory, one who drinks enough of these potions can live forever, so long as they've the pigment necessary to sustain them.

Significance

Pigment is an exceptionally important Alchemical product due to its usage in potions that are designed to swiftly manufacture products into existence. It is often referred to as the 'closest thing to playing God'; with a carefully brewed potion, one can swiftly weave together anything they desire, so long as the pigment is appropriately refined.
