Perdition

Written by strawberryAle

One simple phrase inspired the construction of the Perdition. "Into Hell's Mouth." --Verres Belrose, on the invention of Perdition.
Perdition earned its name -- they are a specific type of golem crafted by the Vanks, designed solely to both humiliate and capture suspected criminals. Often called the 'Iron Glutton' due to its method of capturing prisoners, perditions are a recent invention by the Vanks, but have now served as an important guard in prisons or palaces hosted by nobility. They act as vigilant sentinels over larger prisons, standing eerily quiet within the halls until a potential break occurs.   These bizarre statues appear as rotund and fat statues, and often carry the caricatured visage of notorious criminals or nobles. What makes these creatures deadly however, is their enormous, yawning maw, which is capable of stretching to unimaginable lengths to clamp down and capture their quarry. When a victim is grappled by their metallic hands, the statue becomes a literal walking prison by locking its mouth shut. They are kept trapped within Perdition's belly until the golem is commanded to release them.   Perditions are greatly feared due to their usage as torture implements. Their enormous teeth are capable of locking up and snapping bone as slowly as necessary, which is used to cripple inmates to allow for easier capture. In extreme cases, the iron gluttons are placed upon a fire or within a forge while the victim is still within it, forcing them to slowly roast alive inside the creature. Horrifically, the Glutton releases the echoing screams of its victims from several air holes found within the head.   Iron Gluttons are typically used by Vank prison guards or nobles; they are designed to capture and collect suspects, acting as literal walking prisons that can transport the victim wherever its master may please.

Power Generation

The creatures are fueled by raw magic, are occasionally refueled by a Magi using their own personal life force.

Weapons & Armament

Rarely outfitted with actual weapons, though the trademark head is capable of unhinging to open into an enormous, gaping maw, more than capable of swallowing or biting down upon a fully grown man.

Armor and defense

Being made of about 3,000 Pounds of iron, it goes without saying that the primary defense these things have is their thick, nigh-impenetrable bodies.
So, while this isn't a vehicle in the traditional sense, I figured it should technically count as one! They're common among a culture, and are used to transport prisoners rather than common civilians. As always though, thank you for the read!
