Lady Twinface

Queen Morrigan Kendrick (a.k.a. Lady Twinface)

Let those who speak of my second face know that it has kissed the very coals of Hell.
Lady Twinface is the Queen of the Vanks, renown for her boldness and courage to stand against the Church's corruption, the left half of her visage remains permanently scarred as not a burden or shame, but as a trophy to her success in routing the unjust crusaders that held her and her childhood friend, Thalia, hostage. Near the end of the crusades and during the culmination of it all, Morrigan remained only a princess, and her betrothed a prince. She actively defied the Church when she saw the cruelty brought to the Elves, and was subsequently imprisoned for her actions after ordering her men to liberate the Elves from their captors.   When Morrigan was captured, an outraged prince Tyrel demanded the return of his beloved, but was denied on grounds of her committing blasphemy and working closely with the Elves, who, at the time, were widely considered to be the enemy of the Church. This mere act alone had sparked a revolt from the Vanks, who separated themselves from the human kingdoms and lead a massive army to crush every Church territory outside of Vanks.   As this had happened, Morrigan and Thalia had lived their lives in prison camps. Fortunately for the two, Thalia had known plenty methods of getting the officials from bringing either of them harm. Shameless as it was, Thalia and Morrigan were forced to seduce countless men to prevent their heads from being brought forth on the executioner's block, but when high ranking officials from the Church had begun to hear of this scandal, they had chosen to punish the two accordingly. In order to prevent men from fawning over their beauty, they would be scarred for life, and so, Thalia and Morrigan were both brought not to an executioner's block, but a brazier filled with coals. This famous scene alone is what lead to the remaining Elves liberating themselves from the Church's reins, and for its corruption to truly be brought into light.   Thalia was first. Thalia had attempted to save Morrigan by claiming her to only have 'watched and planned, at most.'. The Church thus saw it fit for Morrigan to witness Thalia's disfigurement, and so, her face was pressed upon the coals. Morrigan desperately tried to look away, when the sounds of horns could be heard billowing out in the distance. Morrigan was quickly grabbed, and without a word, her face was slammed upon the brazier.
They saw to it that they pressed my face into the flame as if it were a juicy steak. I screamed. But my beloved Verres screamed louder.
An arrow quickly shot the man holding her in the ankle, leaving her free as the crusaders were brought to the sword by the Vanks. Verres himself made a mad sprint for Morrigan, slashing for nowhere lethal upon the men that dare defy him. He didn't want them to die -- he slashed for the legs, the arms, anywhere to leave them crippled, so that he may bring them hell later. Fortunately for Verres, he'd have that wish.
When the men were routed, I gathered Thalia and Morrigan both and had them stand before the surviving crusaders. I made sure my men captured and aimed to cripple, not kill. I wanted them all to look upon Thalia and Morrigan. To apologise and see what horror they did to two once-and still beautiful women. They instead called them whores. Harlots. Prostitutes. But my men knew better. They were silent. And so, I recited the same verse my father and his father before him spoke: "Evil only speaks the language of cruelty."   I lined the prisoners up to be tied to a post. I didn't start with the throat. I didn't start with the head. I grabbed for every dangling bit of flesh they had. The breasts. The rolls of fat on the side. The nose. The ears. I made sure that they begged me to start dismembering them, because they KNEW I would not kill them outright. They knew that losing a limb was the closer way to death. I wanted them to bleed for what they did to my beloved. That, is why people call me 'The Carver.' -- Verres Tyrel, recounting his butchering of countless crusaders.
From there, Morrigan and Verres had effectively halted the crusades altogether. The human kingdoms, for the first time in centuries, had a fracture -- the Vanks stood separate from them, and the Elves had successfully escaped the wrath of the crusades. Before the Church could even retaliate against Verres, a new threat had began to spread upon humanity, and the Church's influence waned enough from humanity to leave the Vanks a separate rule entirely

Physical Description

Body Features

Her hair is a wispy nest of black and grey, falling far past her shoulders in silky strands that still manage to maintain their youth despite their greying and age. Most remains combed over to hide the left half of her face, though it fails to hide the creeping, half-melted flesh that ends just to the side of her nose.

Facial Features

Morrigan's face remains the most striking feature of all. Her 'Twinface' is marred by a cluster of scars, most prominent upon the left. A dangled web of bulging scars twists a network of permanently ruined flesh, while an eye of curdled milk remains frequently hidden beneath a black cloth.

Mental characteristics

Accomplishments & Achievements

Many credit Morrigan for being the one thing that stopped the Elves from being driven to extinction. Were it not for her stand against the Church, the Vanks may have never stormed them. She is also seen as the reason why the Vanks consider themselves a separate, independent kingdom from the rest of Tregaron.
