Flauros

Lord Flauros

Flauros is the Abyssal Lord of Ruin and Destruction. Flauros is the raw embodiment of calamity itself, destruction not of just life, but of all things that exist and function. Whether it be something as simple as a clock stopping to tick or something as catastrophic as a collapsing building, Flauros is the driving force of ruin and chaos that tears anything and anyone asunder. Though Flauros represents destruction and chaotic anarchy, he is also one of the most popular Abyssal Lords to be found within the many layers of Sheol

Flauros' worshipers are not often aimless revelers in destruction, but instead are typically people that find something pre-established revolting or disgusting. They are often revolutionary movements, or rebels that seek to tear something down for the sake of seeing it regrow anew later. Despite that, all forms of destruction carried out in Flauros' name only makes him stronger, and he only seeks to further sow these seeds of chaos so that the world may be his playing ground, until all is naught but dust.

Depiction

Flauros is depicted as a powerful, reptilian entity. He has a humanoid body, with a long tail and fanged maw filled with triangular teeth. His skin is charcoal black, with smoldering cracks that show a molten surface beneath the scaly exterior. He is often wielding a scythe or battle axe.

Divine Domains

Flauros is the raw incarnate of destruction itself. Whether it be rubble or ruin, or destruction brought forth by cleansing fire, Flauros' domain falls into anything that breaks, be it living or otherwise. Flauros' worshipers often see him as an important part of a certain cycle, viewing Flauros as the destruction and cleansing flame needed to pave a path of rubble and ruin towards a new world. Whatever the case may be, Flauros revels in ruin and chaos; his appetite for destruction is so great that he seeks no shrine, finding the very idea of foundation to be abhorrent, Flauros desires the world to be left in rubble.

Holy Books & Codes

Flauros' followers find the very idea of a book to be contradictory, and thus do not really write down teachings, but instead rely on word of mouth. Flauros' tenants are still known well among his faith despite that, with tenets often being recited in cult gatherings.

Practices

Ruin Shrines: Ruin Shrines are exactly what it says. They're shrines, built from th e ruin and rubble of other broken Churches or faiths. Whether these dark altars are built from the altars of Dark Gods, The Fae, or Aine, it does not matter. Ruin Shrines are all compiled from the shattered remnants of broken and defeated faiths, erected as both a trophy and shrine of honor to Flauros. No other shrine is to be accepted; for building in the name of a God of Ruin in itself is contradictory.
Ashen Visions: A common ritual practiced among the lucky few that lived long enough in the Flauran cult. Ashen Seers are granted the power to collect and compile any and all memories of things that have been destroyed, allowing them to trace back what, and how something was destroyed. This ritual is typically done by creating a slurry with water and the ashen remains of whatever the seer desires to see. Ashen Seers drink this substance and are granted the clarity of seeing anything that the ruined object endured just moments before its destruction.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Flauros' primary symbol is a fanged, open mouth. This is typically either etched into something, or forged from rubble and debris. The mouth is typically made as a rhombus with multiple triangles lining the inside.

Tenets of Faith

Do not erect altars in Flauros' name unless it is built upon the ruin of another faith.

Bring about the change that this world needs. Tear down those who are established and safe first, strike at the strong, so that the weak may be winnowed.

Destroy. Do not build anew unless it is upon the corpses of our enemies.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Burning Maw has a very simple goal; to reduce any foundation, physically structured or otherwise, to complete rubble. In essence, Flauros desires raw anarchy, and will not rest until every last thing on the world is reduced to rubble and ruin. Flauros is savagery incarnate. Quite simply, there is no end to its rampage until the inevitable destruction of all things.

Flauros' followers generally do not focus on this part, and most often focus on the cleansing nature of his teachings. Destruction and ruin can sometimes serve as a fine foundation for a better world.
