A mysterious extra-dimensional orb of energy appeared on the horizon one day. It consumed the Empire and it threatened to consume the rest of the world too. The strongest heroes of the time sent forth to stop it, whatever the cost.

From seemingly nothing, a sphere of dark, black energy materialized near Felwinter. It spewed forth hundreds of dark soldiers that destroyed anything in their path. Within hours, the entire city was engulfed in this ever growing shroud, devouring all life that touched it. With the refugees taking shelter in Bekilk, the legendary hero known as Wolfsbane was the first to answer the call to action. Wolfsbane and his companions battled the shroud's minions and tried to discover a way to stop it. Determined to end this crisis, Wolfsbane and his best friend Aslyn entered the shroud. It became clear that one had to stay behind to ensure the destruction of this orb; Wolfsbane sacrificed himself, safely teleporting Aslyn away before he dealt the final blow to the Shroud from the inside, causing its immediate and violent destruction.    The shroud caused seemingly no physical damage to the structures it engulfed, and the citizens of the Empire returned home, thankful for the aid of their southern neighbors. Wolfsbane was remembered as a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice; a memorial to his deeds was erected in Bekilk. However, rumors have started spiraling that he may not be as gone as once thought...
