Phoenix
Phoenixes are one of the species of the Elemental Folk. They have an appearance of a winged humanoid with red hair. Phoenixes serve Ignus, the god of fire from the Elemental Quartet.
Saint Luminos, bringer of life, guardian of fire, bring us prosperity and protect us from evil
Essence of Fire
The same as other Elemental Folk, Phoenixes have the essence of their element. In their case it is fire. Phoenixes are born of fire. During their lifetime, the essence makes them the best fire mages in the world. They also have a connection with fire which makes them immune to it.
Fire Crystal
Fire Crystal is the heart of a Phoenix. It is a source of the fire which is their lifeforce. When the fire burns out, the Phoenix dies and only the crystal remains. Phoenix is reborn when the crystal is exposed to fire.
When heated with fire a huge amount of energy is awakened in a crystal. It almost explodes and forms the humanoid form of a Phoenix. Skilled mages can block the transformation process allowing the crystal to be used as a power source.
Saints
Some of the Phoenixes were chosen by Ignus to aid him. They were the so-called "saints". They were the most loyal Phoenixes and were rewarded with immortality. In their case it means that their crystals don't burn out and they don't lose their humanoid form. In religious practices the saints were very imporant even if they were below Ignus in the hierarchy.
