Nazan is afflicted with the Gorgon's Curse causing her to take on the appearance of a 'Medusa'.
Nazan is the daughter of Lord Ulthor Hawksend, the Lord of Hawksend, a town in central Gothia.
Nazan was known throughout Gothia as the 'Jewel of Hawksend', owing to her incredible beauty. Her beauty drew the attention of many would-be suitors. Unfortunately, one such suitor was a mountain bandit, known as Flint the Hammer. He made his offers to Nazan's father, offering a large sum for her hand. The bandit took Ulthor's refusal poorly.
A month later, Flint had raised a small army that overran the town, enslaved many of the citizens, slew the Lord and took Nazan as his own.
In her darkest hour, the Infernal Goddess, Pharika, appeared before Nazan, offering her a way to escape her situation and take revenge on her father's killer. The Infernal offered Nazan a potion that would grant her great power. Nazan would take this bargain, the potion, however, cursed her to become a Medusa. She would turn her captors to stone, leaving the town abandoned but for one solitary resident.
Nazan has maintained her isolation, not wishing to leave her home, nor to bring harm to anyone who may be unfortunate enough to look into her eyes.
After the arrival of the witch coven of Ethel, Brandy and Matilde, Nazan made a bargain with the witches who offered to remove her curse in return for 13 years of servitude.
Following their fight with the Coven of Hawksend, the party found Nazan chained to a wall in the hag's quarters. After being freed from her bondage by the party, Nazan revealed her story to them, as well as, her altered appearance.
She would learn of the appointment of Garth Redwood as the new Lord of Hawksend in Merchant's Crossing. With few options available to her, Nazan decided to follow the party to Draguilforte, hoping to find a way to cure herself and reclaim her birthright.
After arriving in Draguilforte, Nazan remained at the inn for fear of others learning of her affliction. After the party received word from Duke Miles that he could provide aid to her, she thanked the party for their help and bid them farewell, she left the city and headed for Regensthall.
