Session 8 & 9 Report

General Summary

The party returned to Oppisal to turn in the witch and claim their reward. The road back to town was kind to them and they found the town in a state of preparation for the festival next week.
The witch they were transporting was put in holding, to be executed next day.
The next day was filled with preparation for the journey to Hindarskjall for their assignment, and the burning of the witch at the stake. The execution went smoothly, as far as public burnings go.
After a full day of preparing and conversation with some of the locals, the party set out to travel the next day.
On the road to Hindarskjall, they encountered a burned out caravan of carts. There were a few charred corpses strewn about the place that appeared to have been picked clean of valuables. A single wooden shield with the crest of a bear on it was found however.
At the end of the first day of travel, the party witnessed a large group, consisting of about 500 individuals, travelling down south, towards them. On approach, the migration stopped and a woman named Agertha spoke to them. They were from a gathering of Northern Clans called "Followers of the Stone", and they have been forced to come down south because of the increased raids of Gnolls and other creatures that hunted them relentlessly. During the conversation, a commotion was heard at the back of the caravan; a Gnoll raid.
The party made quick work of the Gnoll raid, especially since Nafikta had just returned to them. The Followers thanked them, and set up camp on the bluffs by the road. The party set up camp near them as well, on a small hill.
During the night, another small band of Gnolls attacked the party while they were asleep. Though they struggled, the party was victorious eventually.
After the night's rest, they set off to continue their journey to Hindarskjall.
