Nithing

A Nithing is performed by mounting a horse's head on a long pole in front of the target's place of resting and writing the target's name into the shaft. The target will slowly feel their power drained from them, until they are decrepit. An especially strong Nithing may result in the target's death. The effect will seem incurable, unless the Nithing is somehow broken or reversed.

Curing a Nithing

A Nithing can be lifted in one of two ways: Through reversal, or the willing lifting of the curse's caster.   If the person who cast the Nithing takes pity on the target, they will be able to lift the curse of their own volition. They can do this by taking the pole they have planted and burying the horse's head with the rest of the body. After this, the target will soon return to their normal health.   A Nithing can also be diverted back to its caster. By finding out who cast the curse, one can write their name into the shaft instead of the initial target's. This will divert the curse back to them, with the same effects as was originally intended for the target. Lifting the curse after reversal is impossible.
