Lycantrophy

Lycantrophy is the collective term for a curse which turns the individual into a beast during nights of a full moon. Some people embrace the curse bestowed upon them and eventually learn to control their urges, even transform at will. This however, does come at a cost to their soul; the afflicted individual may become increasingly bloodthirsty and find their bestial urges to slip into their daily life.   A person who is bitten by a lycantrophe stands a chance to become afflicted with the curse. If the curse is not identified and cured in the early stages, where it is nigh impossible to notice, the afflicted will find themself dreaming dreams of blood and slaughter the night of the full moon, while their body takes on an instinctual bloodlust of its own, going on a rampant killing spree to try and still the unending hunger in its stomach. After the first transformation, the individual will become a true lycantrophe.   Another way for a person to be afflicted with lycantrophy is by ingesting a rare herb named moongrass, which has to be ritually prepared and ingested during specific conditions in order for its real effects to surface. A person ingesting the cursed herbs will find themselves increasingly sick up to the night of a full moon, during which the transformation will take place.

Curing Lycantrophy

Once a person is cursed, their best bet is to cure the curse before the next full moon. Failing that, the person will transform and the affliction will be very difficult to cure. The cure to a lycan's affliction is only known to some elven sages and the high spirits of the woods.
