Disagreements within the borders of the kingdom begin to cause strife.

Experimentation urged by a God known as Merrshaulk causes the Yuan people to begin heavy ritualistic transformations. At first it is nothing but scales growing under the skin and pushing their way to the surface of the most devout and reptilian slitted eyes. The ruling class welcomes the changes and heralds it as a sign of their divine blessing and proof of the power of their Gods.   Some small groups within the lower classes, mostly those who's family members had been taken for the experiments, are horrified by the changes, and whispers begin to swirl of how the priests have made secret deals with Demons for power beyond their own control.
