The Servants of Ruination

Every god died in a mere moment. The Hisad swept through the universe at an impossible speed and with an unmatched ferocity, wiping every divine entity from the realm without leaving a trace. A mysterious immune response of reality itself, correcting the anomaly of life. This is what The Harbinger predicted would happen. Alas, the other gods wouldn't listen to him.     Clashes had occurred before between the gods over the reign over the universe. They knew other worlds could be created, or existed out there somewhere, but none wished to abandon this universe: they were too petty to suffer the shame of defeat in such a way. And yet they fought each other, vowing to vanquish their nigh-immortal enemies to these fabled other realities.   They did not understand that beings this powerful could not be allowed to roam amongst the multiverse unpunished. Their precognition had already become clouded due to their imminent doom. With no other option, the Harbinger created an army of angels: His Servants of Ruination were meant to prevent the gods from creating or exploring other worlds.   The war that followed was a conflict of unthinkable proportions, as the weapons were the laws of reality themselves. Paradoxical symbols carved into empty space broke down the fabric of the universe, entire spacial dimensions were annihilated, and utter chaos reigned supreme. Both followers and enemies of the Harbinger sought refuge in any way possible. But it was not enough. The angels failed, his captors threw him before a council and his fate was decided. The Harbinger, together with his angels, was cast into the Nihilex, a newly artificially created reality that would serve as his prison.   He was not saved from what followed for the other Gods. The fate he had predicted had indeed come to pass, and he had become the first god to be transported into a different reality. Thus the Hisad, the great God-Eater, had arrived to claim its due. He too vanished mysteriously, none were left to witness the phenomenon.   Thus did the Harbinger fall. Without his command, the servants went dormant, trapped in the realm with their dead master. The slowly decaying angels became nothing more than empty husks with ever-fading power. The Harbinger's greatest archangel, his personal advisor, was never found or captured. And with the Hisad leaving the universe a dead void, it never would be. It still roams this realm somewhere, the only witness of the harvest.   And it is planning a great retribution.
