The Deepstone Obelisk

A magically enchanted marker in front of the entrance to the ruins of the ancient citadel of Deepstone. Constructed as a last ditch effort by the dwarves escaping Deepstone it prevents a lot of the evil inhabitants of Deepstone from escaping the depths of the citadel. The obelisk makes tunnels that reach the surface collapse after a short period of time. A magical barrier also is created around the opening where the citadels gates used to stand and around the obelisk itself. This prevents denizens from the Abyss passing through the barrier, any attempts to pass through the barrier causes the immediate disintegration of the Demon.

Purpose / Function

To prevent the majority of the demons escaping the Abyss into Deepstone from reaching the surface.

Architecture

The obelisk is made of seven sections of Abyssal stone. Each section has runes and wards carved into its surface with electrum inlay. The same runes and wards are carved into each section, but each section is carved in a different language. Celestial, Dwarvish, Eldarii, Draconic, Bael, Infernal, Abyssal.
