Queen Alexandra II

Queen Alexandra II is the current monarch of the queendom of Auroma. Her towering presence and motherly demeanor inspire awe and endear her to all who encounter her. Despite her limited exposure to noble etiquette, she governs with a heart full of kindness and a willingness to get her hands dirty for the sake of her subjects.

Description

Alexandra is a bee vespoid from the Amrita ethnic group. She is an imposing figure, even towering over many bumbles. Her chitin and fur are a striking blend of earthly browns and shimmering gold stripes. Although her appearance may not conform to traditional notions of regal beauty, her presence is comforting and reassuring, radiating a sense of kindness and compassion toward all those under her care. Alexandra leads with grace and poise, serving as a model of strength and wisdom for her loyal subjects.

History

Alexandra was born into a family of Amrita pollen farmers in the small village of Lavender in 296 AH. Her parents couldn't afford a place of higher education and needed skilled hands working on their pollen fields, so when she reached the age of five, Alexandra enrolled in their village's worker caste combschool.

Even at an early age, she was a very compassionate child. She always put the well-being of others before her own, sharing the little food and money she had with other children at her combschool. Her teachers also mentioned that she was very bright and eager to learn. Due to her extraordinary potential, she was eventually trained as a medic under the clergy of Auromatra. She excelled at her new duties and became a priestess of the Golden Mother at the early age of 17.

The former Queen Elizabeth IV, the Crimson Sting, had yet to choose a successor before the Tunnel War broke out in 313 AH. The warrior queen battled against the detrinian tyrant Harko Ironfang right on the frontlines, where she was mortally wounded and died of her injuries in 321 AH. On her deathbed, Elizabeth exclaimed that she had a vision of a worker-caste bee, a caring and kind follower of the Golden Mother. Since the war was still raging on, Queen Alexandra II was crowned only a few days after the old queen died.

Upon ascending to the throne, Queen Alexandra faced significant disdain from the Regal Senate, with many of its zenith noble members resenting the presence of a "commoner queen.". Her ethnic background and social standing were viewed with suspicion, causing the aristocrats to disapprove of her coronation. Not only was it uncommon for a worker to become a ruler, but she was also an Amrita and a young inexperienced one at that. The elite was unhappy with the speed at which Alexandra became queen, believing there was no time to educate her in the etiquette of the noble court.

Present

Despite having to fight against the biased Regal Senate, Alexandra focused her energy on the well-being of her people rather than engaging in courtly activities. She tirelessly worked to rebuild what was destroyed in the war and tended to the injured soldiers. This approach earned her the title of the Motherly Queen and the adoration of the common folk.

Furthermore, Alexandra wants to abolish the archaic caste system dictating Auromas's social relations. She sees the system as the core reason for social inequalities within her queendom.

The Regal Senate opposes Alexandra's views on the caste system. They see their way of life and status attacked by the queen's new policies. Lord Magnus Buzzthorn, the Senator of the Exchequer, is one of her most vocal opponents. He disliked bowing down to a worker and an Amrita and desired to see Alexandra dethroned.
