Pentas Digitorum

The Pentas Digitorum is the sacred class structure of Aeora, taken from the Twenty-One Tractates. The symbol for the Pentas Digitorum is the closed fist, each class representing a metaphorical finger on the hand. Each class has a different role in Aeoran political life, with every class subordinate to the proceeding class.

1. The Optinate, the clerics of the gods, whose duty is to pronounce and enforce spiritual law.
2. The Venerate, the founders of the polis, whose name is inscribed on the Lapis Conditori, whose duty it is to lead armies, hold magistracies, and pronounce and enforce political law.
3. The Tertiate, the free citizen body whose duty is to abide by spiritual and political law, participate in elections and serve in the legions.
4. The Archonate, the standing legions whose duty is to follow martial law, protect and serve Aeora and follow the commands of magisters with imperium.
5. The Servile, slaves and contracted servants who have relinquished the rights of citizenship voluntarily or as punishment for crimes.
