Colova

For generations, The Kingdom of Colova had been regarded by the rest of Vandrian society as little more than a minor nation hardly worth remembering. It rarely quarreled with other nations, thanks to its relatively remote location. It had few natural resources, and its kings were regressive and ineffectual. However, with the ascent of Queen Ismaire to the throne, things have changed. Her funding of the voyage of Silvia Cardenal has led to an age of prosperity for Colova, and has developed the nation into a hub of commerce. Colova has historically been a very oppressive land, especially towards Tieflings. The Queen's funding of and subsequent relationship with Silvia, a tiefling herself, has caused a large stir in the more conservative old guard, and there are those who would see her out of power, or dead.
Others criticize her for expanding too quickly, and displacing the Merfolk who call the islands home. The colonial city of Puertovilla is perfectly located as a halfway point between the continents of Vandrius and Eleron, and allows for plentiful trade and wealth.
