Penny Goodwyn gets to meet Gnaea Abella, Darien's bloodsister, when she abruptly shows up at his home in Bigby Fork. When Darien returns from a long trip to Memphis, TN, he only senses that an ancient vampire is with his lover and reacts on instinct to protect her, allowing Penny to really see for the first time the predator lurking under her lover's skin.
