Thank you Adventurers Alliance! Because of what you provide the city, my business is flourishing at home and elsewhere! You make arranging jobs very easy and affordable. I highly recommend going to one of their member guilds for any help you might need.

Mission Statement

The Adventurers Alliance is a confederation of adventuring guilds in Otorveia. We strive to support our members and create a safer environment for adventuring throughout the Empire. The Alliance assists members from other guilds in connecting with their local adventuring guild and facilitating an efficient way to contract work and provide citizens seeking work with fair rates throughout the empire. We have received imperial endorsement and continue to meet our goals for adventuring standards and ethics.

Structure

Leadership

The Chief Guild Master (CGM) is an elected position from the Alliance Council. The Council may nominate anyone with a Rank 7, equivalent, or higher standing to be the next Chief Guild Master. Elections occur once every 9 years. Nominees must agree to renouncing all other guild memberships if voted to be the Chief Guild Master.

Alliance Council

Adventurers looking to retire from active adventuring may seek to join the Alliance Council. Each member guild is permitted one representative who may serve for a maximum of 30 years. Members of the Alliance Council must hold at least a Rank 7 or equivalent standing prior to nomination.

Auxiliary Opportunities

Individuals seeking employment with the guild may be hired directly by the Alliance. Many routes for employment are possible from customer satisfaction representatives, administrative clerks and assistants, cooks, cleaners, professional administrative duties, inspectors, and Alliance representatives in government and at interguild functions. Interested individuals should reach out to their local Alliance office or representative to inquire further.

Guild Membership

Joining the Alliance

Adventuring guilds which are interested in joining the Adventurers Alliance must submit an application signed for by the Guild Master and Provost. There is a non-refundable application fee, and guilds must submit a deposit which will be applied to the first prorated membership fee. Prospective members may receive requests to alter guild policies, fee schedules, and ranks to be in line with Alliance standards prior to acceptance.

Rights & Responsibilities

Guild members are responsible for upholding Alliance standards of conduct at minimum. They receive the right to nominate a member to the Alliance Council for the purpose of voting on and proposing Alliance wide legislation and reform. Member guilds are provided with Alliance insurance for damages and loss. The Alliance will also assist members in mediation with clients. All Alliance members recognize one another's authority within their respective cities. Part of membership dues go towards assisting adventurers with housing and meal stipends if the host member guild is unable to provide adequate lodging.

Ranks

Each member guild may establish its own ranking system for members. All ranking systems must be based on the leveling system. Current alternatives to numerical levels are provided below, and guilds entering the alliance may adopt any of these options for their own. Otherwise, they must receive approval from the Chief Guild Master.

Member Services

The Alliance has its headquarters on Polta Island and minor branch offices in all major regions of the Empire. These offices offer lodging and food for any guild members. Basic rooms and meals are provided free of charge. Per agreements with the imperial government and Otorim Society of Bankers, the Adventurers Alliance is able to offer modest banking services and insurance policies to guilds and guild members. There are also accounting and tax professionals available to all member guilds.

History

Founding the Alliance

Prior to the creation of the Adventurers Alliance, independent adventuring guilds frequently started guild wars with one another, and there was fierce competition for jobs. In the city Maserta, the White Star Alliance and Ten Restless Brothers were the two prominent adventuring guilds regularly competing for work and influence. However, in 206 IA, the new guild leader of the White Star Alliance sought to find an end to the rivalry. Iustin Ponermo reached out to to Olek Vissuto, the Guild Master of the Ten Restless Brothers for a meeting to settle their differences. The date was set for 17 Menasse 206 IA.   They called for a truce between the organizations and laid the groundwork for an alliance of guilds where they'd be able to exist alongside each other. Where the Ten Restless Brothers often took on dangerous missions with smaller groups and ventured further afield from the city, the White Star Alliance preferred to help out in the city and only took on dangerous contracts if they had a large enough group gathered. Realizing that they weren't so at odds as they thought, the two agreed to form the loose alliance.   This proved to be a great success and without needing to put time and money into subterfuge and sabotage, both guilds benefitted from the arrangement. They even worked together in 207 IA to bring down a wyvern that was terrorizing the people. They made the decision to blend the two guilds under a united banner and changed the name to the Adventurers Alliance in 208 IA.

Expanding the Alliance

It wasn't long before other guilds started to hear about the new Adventurers Alliance. Word spread of their deeds in defeating a wyvern, and other guild leaders wanted to know the secret. Initially, the guild accepted new members on the contingency that they would become branches of the Adventurers Guild, but they soon found that this dampened the reputation and political sway of the existing guilds when forced to change their name and emblems.   Under the new Guild Master Yanni Borisauvo, the guild restructured to sit above the existing adventuring guilds. They continued to maintain offices in Maserta eventually consolidating into the White Star Adventuring Guild after the youngest of the original ten brothers passed away in 249 IA. With this new structure, they were able to expand rapidly and established many of the amenities that modern guild members are familiar with. They used membership dues to help offset the cost of housing and feeding adventurers from other guilds. Originally, this was set up as a flat stipend but eventually changed to only covering basic needs after several complaints by members who traveled late in the month not being able to receive benefits due to the stipend running out.   They also standardized the ranking system in 253 IA to ensure that guild members could easily understand the skill and reputation of other member guilds. In 288 IA under Guild Master Nikara Amaral, the first woman to hold that position, negotiations began with the Otorim Society of Bankers to be able to offer deposit accounts to guild members. She reached a deal with the banking guild in 292 IA which paved the way for dialogue with other local guilds for contracts.

Imperial Support

In 336 under Emperor Pintero Salros, the Adventurers Alliance received imperial recognition as an Endorsed Guild. This designation greatly increased the Alliance's reputation, and in 337, the emperor donated land on Polta Island to the Alliance for new headquarters. Construction of the new guild hall lasted for 15 years before the Polta Island Alliance Hall was officially completed and opened for operations.   The old guild hall in Maserta was given over fully to the White Star Adventuring Guild. Since then, the guild hall has undergone multiple renovations as its influence continued to expand alongside the empire. Though unable to hold sway in the colonies, the Adventurers Alliance became synonymous with adventuring guilds in mainland Otorveia.

Present

Currently, the Alliance has over 55 member guilds spread across the empire. The Chief Guild Master is Farnasio Rossinuelho. The Alliance is synonymous with high quality adventurers for any need, competitive rates, and excellent benefits to all members.

Where We're Going

The Alliance has many exciting plans for the next 5-10 years. Currently, we are renovating a guild hall on Taroutesa Island which is expected to be completed in the next three years despite unexpected setbacks caused by the war. We are also proud to welcome the Vekhtet City Mercenary Guild as a new member of the Alliance at the end of 491 IA.

Contracting through the Alliance

Individuals interested in contracting services through the Adventurers Alliance should reach out first to their local Adventuring Guild if unaffiliated or guild representative if a member of another guild. The Alliance commonly has contracts and set rates with local guilds that frequently require the services of adventurers. All fees and payment are due prior to the date of service. Some local guilds may front costs for their own members. Please be sure to advise who will be issuing payment. Alliance contracts once signed are fixed, and rates may not be negotiated further. In the event that the Alliance did not provide the agreed upon services, please contact the representative listed at the bottom of the contract, and we will seek to make you whole.
