Brine

Strong as the sea and the stars, Brine has your back!

A powerful adhesive, Brine is both a commercial and deeply spiritual and religious product. Made with salt harvested from the world-renowned salterns of Weeping Bay, it holds deep connections to Ira religion in addition to its common household usage.

Harvesting The Salt

Brine, as is commonly known, is primarily made out of a specific crystalline material fiber in Cordisite (after it is liquified and thickened) and water. While Cordisite itself is a rare enough material, this fiber can be mass produced, making it accessible for even the lowest caste. Brine's true novelty comes from its usage of the salt from Weeping Bay.

Sustainable Methods

Unlike the 'barbaric' extraction methods of many other corporations, Brine relies only on the salterns, where the brine of the almost unnaturally sodium-saturated seawater is collected. They pride themselves on their lack of drilling and 'meddling with the Veins'.

Tear-Stained Waters

As the common Ira myth goes, Feolla's tears forever tainted the sand and the water of the beach she played at after her separation from Meiorh. This is often used to justify the massive, unusual concentration of salt specifically in Weeping Bay.

Mythic Connotations

The religious matter is absolutely not to be ignored - it is one of the focal points of Brine's pitch. The salterns of which the materials that Brine is made up of directly connotate to the story of A Song of Constellations, in which the central romance (and tragedy) between goddesses is said to take place on the beach of Weeping Bay.

This connection was recognised by the product directors at the very beginning of development; the religious myth is a poignant story that tends to strike nerves in its intended audience. It is now advertised that the salt integrates the divine strength of the two goddess' love into the product.

It's bittersweet, I suppose. Bittersweet in a way that hits all the right places.

Imports

Brine has begun to make an appearance in global trade, where it is sold internationally for its high value in Cordisite - a resource that, despite Irasi's surplus, is a rare asset elsewhere. In Wyntra especially, it is often used as a repair tool in military troops.
