Oldlake Catering

Oldlake Catering is the private catering company owned by Oleander "Ollie" Oldlake. It specializes in faunish cuisine passed down through generations from Deeproots Elidian. Though the proprietor is well-versed in traditional cooking, he has also taken the schooling of the Cooks Guild in order to lend his catering legitimacy. The business primarily caters to personal parties, gatherings, and festivals. Ollie's traditional cooking is particularly popular catering for faun ceremonies such as a child's First Greenreading. However, even other races have come to appreciate trying exotic dishes for their gatherings.

Dishes

Most of the specialized ingredients Oldlake Catering employs are either homegrown in the proprietor's personal garden or else imported from D. Elidian directly. Ollie's dishes frequently incorporate the "three horns" of corn, beans, and squash that are a staple of D. Eilian culture. Some examples of dishes include corn and amaranth bread, sweet potato crepes, blue-green algae duck egg rolls, and cherimoya custard.    For the local faun children, he cooks soursop sweetmeats. Though he specializes in mostly vegetarian dishes, Ollie does cook dishes starring peccary, turkey, or duck. He once used a Deeproots breed of hairless dog in his cooking but refrained from the taboo after coming to Valor due to the local taboo of eating dog meat.    Oleander himself does not brew drinks but does partner with a local faun brewer named Tillandsia Davenport who provides freshly brewed coffee to those who wish to add on to their catering order. She also has alcoholic options of pulque, an alcoholic beverage made from the fermented sap of agaves, and kumis, a fermented dairy product traditionally made from mare's milk or donkey milk.
