Anuth

Like most of Valor's deities, Anuth is largely mysterious, the original details of mythology and worship lost to time and the Raithar Empire's conquest. There is some quiet debate within his temples over whether their ancestors considered Anuth the god of water, of fisherman, or some other related realm... but these days, Anuth is god of all things that live in water and wetlands.

Divine Domains

Anuth is god of all that lives in the water. This includes fish and other sea creatures, otters, beavers, watersnakes, leeches, oysters, and so on even to birds that live exclusively in marshes or are inextricably associated with water.

Because Gryphons are so fond of bathing and fishing, but are more properly in Valor Ascendant's domain, they are considered friends and allies to Anuth, particularly in the wild.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Anuth is represented by a 16-tentacled octopus. Other symbols that may have been associated with Anuth prior to Raitharan occupation are now disputed and controversial.

Tenets of Faith

Anuth is not known to desire any particular behavior of his followers, but his temples are kept quiet, and Anuth's protection may be sought by those fearing exposure or rejection.

Holidays

There is no set holiday, but it is good form to honor Anuth with at least one seafood feast (called an Anuthsfest) each year. When hosting an Anuthsfest, one should be sure to invite as many guests as possible, cook more food than necessary, and share discussion of things one has learned and seen since their last Anuthsfest.
