Path of the Ancestors

The Path of the Ancestors shares many philosophical ideas with Singulism, but its foundation isn't in Dichotism. This religion is traditionally practiced by the  Innish culture, and is heavily focused upon mysticism. The central pillar of the religion is a sense of spirituality that connects all peoples. The religion recognizes the likely presence of entities, powers, and forces in the world that are beyond comprehension, but doesn't presume to know what those forces are. Instead it teaches an open-minded approach to the world, where a follower can acknowledge discovery and change in their spiritual understanding as they explore. This allows the religion to piggyback upon other religions, blending its philosophy and customs with the doctrine another religion might teach.   The Path of the Ancestors believes in the soul, and in reincarnation of the soul. That when you die, your soul is reincarnated within a new body. It believes that our natural feelings of instinct and intuition are echoed memories within our soul trying to impart their wisdom upon us. Due to this, instinct and intuition are to be trusted always. Unexplained emotions and ideas are to be valued, and may be more important than normal emotions, as these unexplained emotions are likely the result of the culminated wisdom from our past lives. The religion teaches certain rituals, ceremonies, and celebrations that are continuations of traditions created by the very first Innish peoples. By practicing these ancient Innish rituals and ceremonies, one can connect with their past lives, who may have practiced these same rituals. The stronger you make the connection with your ancestors, the more powerful your intuition will become, and the wiser you will be.
Fundamental Tenants of the Faith:
  • Your soul reincarnates after you die, it retains echoes and lessons from your previous lives when it does so. You must walk the Path of the Ancestors, the path that your previous self has laid out for you. You must try to listen to the warnings and wisdom of your past incarnations, which come in the forms of instinct and intuition.
  • An unexplained emotion or idea is always to be trusted. Instinct is the most powerful of the senses, as it is the culminated internalized wisdom of our past selves.
  • By participating in the rituals of the faith, you may awaken the echoes of your previous lives who practiced these same rituals. Keeping strictly to tradition is the best way to awaken the power of the past, and gain the wisdom of your past selves. By communing with your ancestors, you better understand the paths you must take.
  • Your reincarnation isn't random, it is the result of the path you walked in your previous life. Your deeds have traveled far, what you have been is what you are. All that you learn this time is carried beyond this life.
  • One day, far in the future, our paths will lead us to a greater truth, a new reality. It is impossible for us to know what this greater state of being might be, but we need not fear change.
