Meridan

The Meridan culture came to be in the 3rd Epoch when the Logicmasters established the nation of Meridian. Whatever Meridan Island's original culture might have been has been long lost, with the majority of Meridan people drawing their roots from other cultures. Meridans are all descended from immigrants, people who joined the Logicmaster's new nation in hopes of a better future. As such the ethnic and racial diversity of this culture is extremely high. The Meridan people are very accustomed to a high standard of living, having access to free education, and a myriad of technological comforts.

Meridan people often have a skewed view of the world, as most other cultures are less educated, in a ubiquitous sense, and unaccustomed to the quality of life standards Meridans have. The Meridan people are perhaps the only culture that has never experienced true war, although the Logicmasters that founded this culture have an old history of bloodshed. This simple fact means that Meridans often seem naive to how cruel the world can be, thinking that good things will naturally happen to them no matter the circumstance. There is a common sentiment that cultural strength is achieved through knowledge and technological progress. Meridans are generally kind and generous, if perhaps a bit ignorant to certain realities.

Meridans are accustomed to island living, within a fairly moderate climate that is often assaulted by storms. The massive city of Sanctum is where the vast majority of this population lives, making Meridan culture more accustomed to urban sprawl than any natural habitat. This is made most Meridans detached from nature, and unsympathetic to any environmental impact their culture might cause. The Merdian people are also very seafaring, as their island cannot support their population, making them reliant upon sea and air trade.
