Althus

Althus is one of the Risen, a god of the religion Dichotism. He represents the domains of Justice, Penance, and Purity. It is commonly believed he shows himself as the Elder Moon upon the Celestial sky. His depictions in art most commonly show him as an elderly, yet strong man, or simply as the Elder Moon. He is named the Light in the Darkness by Dichotists, as he is the brightest of the three moons, and is most responsible for illuminating the world during the night. Nights where he is absent from the Celestial sky are believed to be wicked, a time in which evil tries to thrive. Babies born when the Elder Moon is brightest are believed to be more likely to inherit Althus' qualities, and many couples aim to conceive at a time when the babies birth will align with the full Elder Moon (its slower cycle also makes this easier to attempt than with other moons).
