Bronzeblood Arenas

One of Nasiri's primary draws is its entertainment in the form of gladiatorial combat. Throughout Nasiri are the Bronzeblood Arenas, where slaves or volunteers will fight for glory and riches.

Foundation

Gladiatorial bouts have been a staple of Nasirian culture since the Age of Embers. It is believed that during several points in history in history, it was prevalent that many lords would bet on matches to settle minor disputes. The veracity of this has yet to be fully proven, but it's not unlikely.   Although some feared the formation of the Northern Triune would spell the end of the sport, some of the noblemen of Baran, Nasiri's mercantile neighbors, took a great liking to it. Their vested interest, and easy access to slaves, bolstered the spread and success of the Bronzeblood battles.

Rules of Engagement

The bouts have few rules. Combatants cannot exit the arena until the bout is over. Crowd members cannot enter the arena or offer weapons or assistance to the combatants.   More commonly, house-rules are implemented; however, they are often used to add stipulations, such as no armor or bare-fists only, rather than create a fair battle.

Current Relevance

Many in the Heartlands have begun to see slavery in a far more negative light after the aggressive actions of the Sutherland Brotherhood. Some have called for action against the Bronzebloods, though many simply ignore the distant blood-sport. Despite this, the spectacles are as popular as ever.
