A legendary figure, Njáll is often considered to be the first frost giant. Whether or not the legends surrounding him are true, Njáll was certainly a powerful giant warlord who ruled over a significant portion of northern Briarra in the 300s.

Crude depictions found in ruins in that region depict Njáll as a tyrannical ruler who spawned a huge number of offspring and used them to lead battalions of frost giants at the borders of his realm to secure the territory.
