Bulir the Envious - born of an encounter between Ades the Mad and a mortal tieflings . First of the demons, who spawned all the others.
Tieflings carry the taint of Bulir's creation to this day, the truth lost to myth with confusion over whether they spawned Bulir, or he them. In the end it matters little to most Valinians. The tieflings will forever be associated with the Demon Lord. Enslaver of the gith race who came to their emancipation forever split into two. Father of a god - Gides, the God of Wine and Revelry - whose antics can help spread jealousy into Valine, whether deliberately or not. The eternal prisoner, Overlord of the Asylum, a realm of fire and brimstone which he can never leave without release by a god. Punisher of the damned souls whose essence is condemned to the Asylum for a final punishment before their utter destruction. One of only two mortal beings condemned to eternal imprisonment by the gods for the danger they offer.
Envious of the mortals who enjoy the freedom he cannot have. Envious of the gods who wield the power he cannot hope to emulate. Envious of the other demons of his own creation who he sees as improvements, of his own making, on himself. Boiling in a sea of hatred and self-pity. Bulir the Envious - were he ever to be unleashed fully upon the world, Valine would burn and the survivors would envy the dead.
