Ardeer Hills
At one time a hilly island, shifting sands and a buildup of silt carried by the River Garnock connected it to the mainland on the north side of the river. The low lying areas at the foots of the hills remains marshy wetlands, but the hills themselves are really more like tall sand dunes than actual hills.
