Nettlewart

A parasitic plant that feeds off other flowers and shrubs, eventually strangling them. If the leaves are made into a tea, they have calming properties that have been known to reduce fitting, fever and even hallucinations. Too much can induce a 'high' which while not dangerous long term, places the drinker into a temporary state of extreme relaxation which reduces their alertness, reactions and their activity in general.   Some religious groups inhale the smoke from burning Nettlewart in the belief that the resulting blank mental state allows their god easier access to communicate in their dreams.  Many have found this a difficult habit to break however, and repeated use can actually result in the loss of the ability to dream.  Even the first dose taken in this manner tends to result in dreamless sleep, excluding those dreams which are sent by the Divine.
