Marisea (maʁisɛa)

Marisea, the biggest of all the free cities of Estall. Once just a small port around which people started settling down, it is now the central hub for most of everything that happens in the mainland. Wether you're an honest sailor or merchant looking to trade wares and riches, an adventurer looking for a brief respite, a place to find more work, or even someone engaged in shadier types of affairs, you'll most certainly find whatever it is you're looking for in Marisea.
Having begun as a humble port village, Marisea is a city formed by main streets radiating from a common center, with smaller alleys branching out of those. Districts have more or less naturally appeared, with some focused on craft, some on trade and others more densely populated.
Populated by a mix of peoples and cultures, the city stands on its coast as a symbol to the rest of the continent that anyone can be or become anyone. Heroes and Villains, great people from history may not all come from Marisea, but they all came through at one point or another.

Demographics

Most of the city lives in a rough middle: not poor but far from being considered rich. The working class of Marisea, hand in hand with the many travelers, make it a very lively and bustling city with streets almost always active, stores and shops getting business from the docks to fill their stock or from people of different backgrounds to empty it. There are however, like in any of the big cities, disparities. Some are poorer, living mainly near the walls, around the lower levels. Others live with a little more money to their name, with some being rather wealthy. Some of those people use that wealth to help those around them, to better the workers, shops, houses and overall improve the quality of life in the city. To some others among the richer population of Marisea... Wealth is something you keep, something you hoard and grow more and more with time. These are not the most liked of Marisea's residents.

Government

Each of the city's districts have their representative. All of them form the city council where they discuss matters concerning the city with the mayor, who in turn represents the city and its interests with the Federation council. Most
