Provenza (aka Provont)

Known for its proud people, rough and sweet beaches, sour and delicious mediterranean food, and its people known for their overall love for their homeland, Provenza is one of the four main Isles of Yudonia or, as Yudonians say it, one of their "five coral reefs".   Provenza itself is the northernmost island of Yudonia having probably the toughest but prettiest landscape of them all, as well as very old traditions, their own cultural identity different from those of the rest of the islands while still sharing the love for Yudonia, and their amazing northern beaches, some of them located within the "Proventine Natural Reserve Park". Provenza is not to be confused with Prunt, which is the westernmost island and has a very different language called Proventine. Provenza itself is also sometimes referred to as Provont, an old name used to describe the area around the city of Provenza.   The island itself, as all other Yudonian islands, was probably created by the ongoing collision between the Euro-Asiatic and African plates, followed by many volcanic eruptions throughout the years, and constant lava flowings on its eastern coast, famous for their unstopping liquid flow.

Background

Proventines were a mix between the Castilian-Aragonese from before the Empire, with French settlers and natives which would all mix into a unique culture with a very unique language. Because of their "impure" blood and ancestry, Proventines were a lot of the time treated as foreigners or traitors, even in their homeland. All this hate against them and constant string of racism would eventually explode and an independence movement would be sparked. After some time, the movement would be seen by the crown as a threat and would be put on top priority, and eventually, essentially nothing important would happen, as they were be granted same rights as any other citizen. Time started to pass, and when the british crown saw difficulties about Yudo-British relations, Proventines started to spread their influence over the Isles, extending with it all and they would soon become the most fanatic of all Yudonians.

Geography

The geography of the island is very hilly, with some eventual floodplains on some river valleys and tall volcanoes at the center of the island, creating a cone-alike shape to the island with very shallow waters on most of its beaches, and very varied sand types of all of them.   Some of Provont's beaches are said to be the best of the Mediterranean, some of them having very dark or even black sand on some cases, caused by volcanic ashes, while others have very thin sand created by coral reefs to the northwestern side of the island, and at the same time having some bay-ish beaches with microclimates, where small bays generate very cuzzy beaches and tourism is exploited by many different types of locals.
Language: Provish (main). English, French (secondaries)   Crucial territories: Provont. Metia is often considered a crucial territory too.
